I started these indoors and transplanted once it warmed up. The vines were monsters and so were the gourds. I had to reinforce the trellis because of the weight! Very fun to grow.
These plants took over a big portion of my yard, but they delivered in a big way—literally. The pumpkins were enormous and made for great photo ops and carving projects.
I planted these mainly for decoration and they were perfect. Each gourd was large, solid, and had a classic pumpkin look. Really stood out on the porch and held up well through the season.
I was impressed with how fast and strong these plants grew. The vines were huge and needed space, but the payoff was incredible. The gourds were massive and had beautiful orange color.
My kids loved watching these giants grow. We made a game out of measuring them every week. They took up a lot of space, but it was totally worth it for the wow factor alone.
