It took a few weeks for the seeds to germinate, but once they did, the plants developed steadily. The dark red flowers are absolutely worth the wait. A nice touch of drama in my succulent garden.
These seeds grew into such a unique plant. The contrast between the swollen base and the dark flowers gives it a very exotic, sculptural look. It’s done great in a sunny windowsill.
The color is even better than I hoped—deep red, almost black, with a slight shine. They look amazing against the thick, glossy leaves. It’s my first time growing desert rose and now I’m hooked.
I grew mine in a clay pot and it’s done really well. The blooms are dark, bold, and totally eye-catching. I love how the plant thrives with little water and sun exposure—it’s ideal for my patio.
I’ve grown desert roses before, but never in this color. The black-red flowers have a velvety finish that’s striking in the sunlight. Germination took a bit of time, but well worth the wait.
