The plants themselves are stunning—big, dramatic leaves and tall stalks. I grew them for food, but I might leave a few to flower next year because they’re so striking.
These need some space and decent soil, but they really reward you. I mulched heavily and watered consistently and ended up with lush plants and flavorful buds.
Seeds sprouted fast and the seedlings were strong from the beginning. They transplanted well and flourished in full sun. They’re also super ornamental!
I was surprised at how productive these were in their first year. I followed a planting guide for early sowing, and it paid off. Got a good handful of nice, tight buds.
Even before harvesting, these are beautiful plants! The foliage alone adds texture and color to the garden. Mine are just starting to bud—can’t wait to try them fresh.
