If you love fall colors, these are a great addition. The plants are attractive even before the husks form, and once they do, it’s pure magic. They also reseeded a little on their own.
These plants basically took care of themselves. I planted them in partial shade and they still thrived. The lanterns were a beautiful surprise in the cooler months.
These really shine in late summer and fall when most of my garden starts to fade. The orange lanterns hold well and are excellent for drying. Definitely worth the wait.
I was surprised by how fast these took off once they were transplanted. The foliage is lush and the fruiting husks are even more vivid in person. Great talking piece in the garden.
I grew these for the decorative pods and wasn’t disappointed. The plants themselves are low maintenance and the lanterns dried perfectly for wreaths and centerpieces.
