These have a nice old-fashioned look, and the flavor backs it up. I used them as part of a fall table display before cooking them down into puree for baking. Super versatile.
I didn’t realize how long the necks would be—some of them were over 18 inches! The solid neck makes them easier to process than traditional pumpkins, and they taste great too.
I got over a dozen pumpkins from five plants. The fruits cured well and are still holding up after two months in storage. They’re perfect for canning or roasting.
Grew these for the first time and they totally outperformed the regular pumpkins I’ve tried. The flavor is sweet and mild, and they make the creamiest pie filling I’ve ever had.
The vines took off and produced big, long-necked fruits with dense, rich flesh. Super easy to peel and cook. Made a few batches of pumpkin butter and it came out amazing.
