Even in poor soil, these grew like champs. I didn’t baby them at all, but still got healthy, flavorful greens. Definitely a good green for beginner gardeners who like Italian flavors.
If you like arugula or mustard greens, you’ll probably enjoy these too. They have a bitter edge that mellows when sautéed. I like cutting the younger leaves raw for a nice bite in salads.
These remind me of the greens my grandmother used to grow. They’re great in soups, tossed with beans, or served with lemon. I’ve had great luck with them in both pots and ground beds.
I planted some late last fall, and they came back strong in early spring. The leaves hold up well in cooler temps and still taste great. Excellent choice for a cold-hardy green.
These seeds sprouted fast and produced a lot of greens per plant. I’ve been harvesting steadily since the first month. The flavor is bold, so I like to mix it with sweeter greens or cook it down.
