Mountain Laurel FlowerSeeds

I love planting native flowers, and mountain laurel is one of the prettiest around. These seeds took a while to wake up, but they’re now developing nicely in my raised bed. Hoping for blooms in another year or two.

I grew up seeing mountain laurel in the woods and wanted to bring that charm to my yard. These seeds were slow to start but are growing strong. I’m keeping them in partial shade and they seem happy.

I haven’t seen blooms yet, but the foliage is already gorgeous—deep green and leathery. The plants are sturdy and doing well in my part-shade bed. Excited to see what they look like next spring.

I followed the stratification instructions carefully, and surprisingly most of the seeds sprouted. It’s a slow process, but these are resilient little plants. Perfect for a natural, low-maintenance garden.

I’m using mountain laurel to replace some non-native shrubs, and I’m thrilled with how well the seedlings are adapting. These plants are slow but strong and will eventually make a beautiful flowering hedge.
