If you like southern peas, you’ll love these. They have a smooth, buttery texture when cooked and don’t turn to mush. I seasoned mine simply and they were delicious.
I grew these in a small raised bed, and they still gave me a great yield. Very manageable plants and the peas store well in the freezer. Can’t wait to grow them again next season.
These are way easier to shell than other varieties I’ve grown. The pods split open with almost no effort, and the peas taste rich and earthy. Great for stews and side dishes.
I’ve tried a lot of southern peas and these are my favorite. They hold up to the heat, stay relatively pest-free, and the flavor is smooth without being bland.
Nearly every seed germinated, and the vines grew quickly with minimal maintenance. The pods are long and full, and the peas are great fresh or frozen.
